By means of this infusion, an ordinary shield (or disc of metal or wood, such as a plate, in times of emergency) is imbued with magical resistance against one type of energy, specified when the infusion is concocted. All creatures within 10’ of the infused object resist energy damage of the specified type, reducing both mundane and extraordinary damage of the chosen type by half and gaining a +2 bonus on saving throws against effects of that type.

This effect ends immediately if the infused object is dropped or set down.
