Cascade Throw

Warcraft technique — see Magic and Spells for the rules and the Technique Index for the full list.

This page is still in progress.

Apprentice — The warlord seizes a creature within reach and hurls it away. He may throw one creature of up to 40 stone up to 20’; an attack throw is required against an unwilling creature. If the warlord wishes to fling the creature into another creature, or onto a specific hard-to-reach location (such as a balcony or pit), he must make another successful attack throw. Creatures flung into a wall or other hard surface suffer bludgeoning damage, and deal the same to whatever they strike, based on the flung creature’s weight as shown below.

As part of this technique, the warlord may leap up to 20’ in any direction, either before or after the throw - he may use this leap to close distance to a target, to follow the target after throwing it, or simply to reposition.

Initiate — As apprentice, but the warlord may additionally hurl a creature (including the same creature if he uses his leap to follow it) 20’ straight up. Another attack throw is required to hurl an unwilling creature, as is one to aim the creature if appropriate. If stopped by a ceiling, creature, or other hard surface, it will suffer additional damage; it will then fall to the ground and suffer falling damage as usual.

Journeyman — As initiate, but the second throw may fling the target in any direction, not just straight up, and the warlord may make a second 20’ leap in any direction as part of this maneuver - before, after, or in between the throws. However, this second leap leaves the warlord off-balance - all attack throws he makes after the second leap are at a cumulative -1 penalty (max -5) until he takes a full round to recover himself.

Master — As journeyman, but the warlord may make a third, vertical throw as part of this maneuver, as the one outlined in the Initiate level.

Grand Master — As master, but now all three throws may hurl the affected creatures in any direction.

Damage by weight — a creature thrown into something hard
