Hammer and Anvil
Warcraft technique — see Magic and Spells for the rules and the Technique Index for the full list.
Apprentice — With this technique, the warlord calls out to a companion and the two of them fall on the same enemy at once. He may choose one ally within 15’ who is engaged with a common foe. Both of them may immediately make one melee attack against that enemy, each at a −1 penalty for the recklessness of the lunge. If both attacks hit, the pincer is successful and the target takes an extra 2d6 damage.
Initiate — As apprentice, but the chosen ally may be anywhere within 60’, and both the warlord and the ally may make one bonus movement at their normal rate before striking. Neither of them suffers a penalty to hit any longer. A bonus movement must obey all the normal rules for combat movement, including engagement and terrain.
Journeyman — As initiate, but each of them may make two attacks rather than one, and their bonus movement is made at double their normal rate. The pincer is successful if the warlord and the chosen ally each hit with at least one attack; a successful pincer now deals an extra 4d6 damage and knocks the target prone.
Master — As journeyman, but a successful pincer deals an extra 8d6 damage.
Grand Master — As master, but each of them may make three attacks rather than two, and a successful pincer deals an extra 10d6 damage.
