Hold Fast
Warcraft technique Type: healing + protection Range: 30’ Duration: 1 turn
Hold Fast
Warcraft technique — see Magic and Spells for the rules and the Technique Index for the full list.
Apprentice — With this technique, the warlord’s voice cuts through the panic and brings a companion back to himself. He may choose one ally within 30’. This ends the faltering, frightened or infuriated condition, whether it arose from magic or from mundane causes. The chosen ally also gains a +1 bonus to saving throws versus Paralysis for 1 turn.
Initiate — As apprentice, but the bonus to Paralysis saving throws increases to +4.
Journeyman — As initiate, but the bonus now applies to saving throws versus Spells and versus Death as well as versus Paralysis.
Master — As journeyman, and so long as the warlord stands his ground and keeps calling out, the chosen ally becomes invulnerable to one kind of enchantment effect of the warlord’s choice — charm, say, or confusion — for up to 1 turn. Sustaining this invulnerability requires stationary concentration; the bonus to saving throws does not.
Grand Master — As master, but the warding covers every kind of enchantment rather than one, and the warlord need no longer remain stationary while he sustains it — he need only keep concentrating and calling out to his ally.
