Warcraft technique — see Magic and Spells for the rules and the Technique Index for the full list.
Apprentice — The warlord’s blow lands with the weight of a boulder. He makes an attack throw against a creature or structure.
A creature successfully struck suffers 1d12 extraordinary seismic damage and must make a Blast saving throw. On a successful save, they stand their ground; on a failed save they are flung up to 20’ back by the force of the blow and knocked prone. Creatures weighing more than 40 stone cannot be flung back, but can be knocked prone.
A structure successfully struck suffers 1d12 extraordinary seismic structural damage. At the judge’s discretion, a chunk of the structure not to exceed 40 stone may be flung back by the blast.
If the warlord wishes to fling the struck creature or rubble from the structure into another creature, or onto a specific hard-to-reach location (such as a balcony or pit), he must make another successful attack throw. Creatures or objects flung into walls or other hard surface will suffer bludgeoning damage. Creatures or objects will also deal bludgeoning damage to whatever they strike. The amount of damage will be based on the flung creature or object’s weight, as shown on the table below. Large flung objects will also deal damage to an area of effect around their point of impact. Creatures in this area of effect can avoid taking any damage with a successful Blast saving throw, but creatures actually struck by the flung object cannot avoid the damage. Damage from flung objects converts into shp at a rate of 1 shp per 5 points of damage.
Initiate — As apprentice, and the blow is now so mighty as to shake the ground beneath the target. The strike deals 2d12 extraordinary seismic damage to creatures, retaining full potency against wooden structures, or 2d3 to stone structures. Additionally, a creature struck by the initial blow is knocked prone even if its save is successful, and the warlord can now fling creatures or chunks of structure weighing up to 200 stone.
Journeyman — As initiate, and the strike falls with the weight of an avalanche behind it. The blow deals 4d12 extraordinary seismic damage, dealing full structural damage to wood and 4d3 to stone.
Master — As journeyman, and the blow deals 5d12 extraordinary seismic damage, still with full structural damage to wood or 5d3 to stone.
Grand Master — As master, but the blow now carries the full weight of a mountain, dealing 6d12 damage (6d3 to stone). Additionally, a creature or object weighing up to 2,000 stone, can be flung.
