Raven’s Mark
Warcraft technique — see Magic and Spells for the rules and the Technique Index for the full list.
Apprentice — With this technique, the warlord marks an enemy for others to follow. He may immediately make a normal ranged attack against a target of his choice within range of his weapon, to a maximum of 225’. On a hit, in addition to dealing weapon damage as normal, the target is marked. For 1 round, whenever the marked target is hit by an attack, it suffers extra damage of 1d6, to a maximum of 2d6 total extra damage dealt.
Initiate — As apprentice, and the total maximum extra damage increases to 4d6. The mark also draws the eye: unless the target succeeds on a saving throw versus spells, it suffers a -2 penalty to Armor Class against ranged attacks and takes +1 damage per die from ranged attacks for the duration.
Journeyman — As initiate, and the total maximum extra damage increases to 6d6. The warlord may now make two ranged attacks rather than one. Both must be directed at the same creature, and the target is marked if either hits.
Master — As journeyman, but the mark bites deeper. The extra damage rises to 1d8 for each hit, to a maximum of 8d8 total.
Grand Master — As master, but the mark becomes a death sentence, and every blow that lands on the marked creature opens it further. The extra damage rises to 1d12 for each hit, to a maximum of 10d12 total.
