Shulassakar

The Shulassakar are a race of humanoids reminiscent of feathered serpents. Their nature shows itself to varying degrees: many can pass for human at a glance, betrayed only by forked tongues and serpentine eyes, while others bear obvious scales and silvery feathers. Those born with the most snakelike bodies — winged, with serpentine tails for legs — are called the “transcendent,” and are truly awe-inspiring to behold.

Shulassakar recognize these different expressions of the blood as castes. The “flametouched,” marked by their scales and silvery feathers, fill the ranks of the flamekeepers, an order of holy warriors devoted to the Flame-Which-Binds. The “bloodsworn” pursue warcraft, a study of blade magic, whether trained by House D’neith or come to it on their own. And the transcendent stand apart — the most serpentine, and the most awe-inspiring, of their kind.
