Hypnotism
Spell — see Magic and Spellcasting for the rules and the Spell Index for the full list.
Divine 1 Type: enchantment
Range: 30’ Duration: 1 round/level
By means of mesmerizing gestures and droning incantations, the caster can hypnotize 1d4 living creatures in range with a one sentence suggestion. Creatures in range with the fewest HD are affected first and must make a Spells saving throw. Those who succeed on the saving throw ignore the suggestion. Those who fail will carry out the suggestion to the best of their ability.
Note that the caster must speak a common language with the creatures in order to issue suggestions. The suggestion must be worded in such a manner as to make the activity sound reasonable. Asking the creature to do some obviously harmful act automatically negates the effect of the spell. However, a target may be led to believe that an action is not harmful; for instance, a creature might be told to drink a poisonous potion by suggesting the potion is actually beneficial.
Affected creatures will continue carrying out the suggestion until the activity is complete, the effect is dispelled, or the duration expires, whichever comes first.
