Men who devote themselves to the service of the Tiger Prince, are sorted into various orders based on a complex interaction of birthright, measured aptitude, and divine apportionment. Those determined to be Attendants to the Lord of Order forsake training in arms and armament. By devoting themselves to a perfect understanding of the Immaculate Hierarchy, they wield His divine power in ways unrivaled by the typical cleric.

Combat Characteristics
Attendants of Talavosh receive little to no combat training.
Combat Proficiencies: Attendants of Talavosh lack martial training and are proficient only with the whip, staff, cestus, and net; they are not proficient with any armor. They have fighting style proficiency with the two-handed weapon style (allowing them to use a staff with both hands), but not with the dual weapon or weapon and shield styles.
Combat Progression: Attendants advance in attack throws only two points every six levels (i.e. the same as mages), but they advance in saving throws by two points every four (i.e. as clerics). They cannot cleave, regardless of their level.
Starting Class Powers
Divine Magic: Attendants of Talavosh can manifest His power in the form of divine spells, which are granted through prayer and worship. The number and levels of spells the attendant can cast in a single day are listed on the Attendant Spell Progression table. The attendant’s spell selection is limited to the spells in her order’s repertoire (which is different than that of the cleric). See Spells for a list of available spells.
Cow the Unworthy: Despite his lack of martial prowess, a harsh rebuke from an attendant can cow the unworthy. He can rebuke undead as a cleric of ½ his level (rounded down). Additionally, whenever he casts a spell that inflicts fear, the spell’s effects are calculated at +2 caster level and are resisted with a -2 penalty. If the character also has the Bright Lore of Irian proficiency, the ability to rebuke undead will partially stack, allowing the character to turn undead as a cleric of 2/3 his level, rounded up.
Shield of Faith: While he may not wear armor, the attendant of Talavosh has other protections. Any mundane damage he suffers is reduced by 1 point per die. Damage can be reduced to 0, but not less than 0, on each die. Attacks from particularly dangerous monsters or hazards may be considered extraordinary instead of ordinary.
Theology: The cleric has received religious instruction at a seminary, monastery, or temple. He can begin play as a member of a religious hierarchy (Judge’s discretion). He can acquire congregants through proselytizing. He can automatically identify religious symbols, spell signatures, trappings, and holy days of his own faith, and can recognize those of other faiths with a proficiency throw of 11+. Rare or occult cults might be harder to recognize. (This class power is the equivalent of one rank of Theology proficiency.)
Additional Class Powers
Commanding Voice (3rd): An attendant can project his magical powers in a way that inspires awe in those graced with his presence. He gains a +1 bonus to reaction rolls to impress and intimidate people he encounters. If this bonus results in a total of 12 or more, the subjects act as if bewitched while in his presence. Once a subject leaves his presence, the bewitchment ends. If he interacted with the subject with finesse and tact, limiting any requests to the bounds of reason, the subject might be unaware that they were even bewitched. However, if the attendant makes dangerous or unusual demands of the subject to which they would not ordinarily agree, the subject will deduce they were bewitched once the effect ends. This power is equivalent to the Mystic Aura proficiency.
Minor Magical Research (5th): The attendant can scribe scrolls and brew potions.
Compel Submission (5th): At 5th level, the attendant gains the ability to cast a word of command spell once per hour without consuming a spell slot. If the target has already been bewitched by the attendant (through spells or his commanding voice power) they will save against this effect at -4.
Greater Shield of Faith (7th): At 7th level, the attendant’s immunity to mundane harm improves. Mundane damage is now reduced by 2 points per die, though not to less than 0 per die.
Major Magical Research (9th): The attendant can create permanent magic items, such as weapons, rings, and staffs.
Fortified Church (9th): By acquiring a fortified church worth at least 15,000gp, the attendant can attract followers to his service. Provided the attendant has kept to his code of behavior, he can build a fortified church at half price due to the assistance of his deity and order. 5d6 x 10 0th level troops and 1d6 attendants of 1st level of the same religion arrive to serve him within 1d3 months of him acquiring the fortified church. If the attendant has already acquired a fortified church, the followers arrive to serve him within 1d3 months of him reaching 9th level. The followers are fanatically brave and completely loyal (loyalty +4 and morale +4). Despite their loyalty, the followers must be paid a fair wage, or they might eventually leave his service. Additional rules for fortified churches are detailed in Campaigns.
Supreme Magical Research (11th): The attendant can learn and cast ritual divine spells of great power (7th, 8th, and 9th level), and craft magical constructs such as golems and animated statues. If chaotic, the attendant can create necromantic servants and even become undead himself. Rules for magic research can be found in Campaigns.
Code Of Behavior
Like clerics, attendants must uphold the strictures of their order and the goddess Numilvara.
-
The attendant must always wear the mantle and symbol of his order when in public.
-
The attendant must offer prayers to Talavosh at dusk. Offering prayers requires one hour (6 turns).
-
Every seventh day, the attendant must fast, depriving his body to purify his spirit. Once per season, the attendant must fast for a full week during the holiest days of Talavosh.
-
The attendant must not aggrandize himself by fighting with weapons or armor not allowed by his order (i.e., any he is not proficient in).
-
The attendant must not marry or sire children before reaching the rank of Father (7th level).
-
The attendant must not use his divine magic for unlawful or chaotic purposes.
If an attendant ever violates the strictures of his faith, Talavosh might impose penalties upon him. These penalties are entirely up to the Judge. The usual penalty is disfavor (see Conditions) but might include a reduction in spells available or even a loss of all attendant powers altogether. To remove the penalties, the attendant will have to atone for his violation by, e.g., sacrificing treasure, undertaking quests, or even receiving an atonement spell from a powerful caster of her order (Judge’s discretion).
Class Proficiencies
Proficiency Progression: At 1st level, attendants gain one class proficiency from their class proficiency list and one general proficiency from the general proficiency list (as indicated by the template rolled). They select an additional class proficiency at 4th, 8th, and 12th level. They select an additional general proficiency at 5th, 9th, and 13th level.
