Koinos Thales
Quartermaster Koinos Thales keeps the commissary and stables at Teryk. He has a round, slightly misshapen head, big lopsided eyes, and droopy lips; the oafish face hides a sharp mind and a keen tongue, and a good many people have learned that the hard way.
He takes the orders of the day at the headquarters cross-hall each dawn and works from his office beside it. Before sundown he joins the other officers at the bathhouse, then either the inn or the Count’s dinner table.
Kyrpeges
Off duty, the thirty-year-old Thales plays Conquerer, the Caernathi game of strategy. His favorite opponent is the Count, but he can often be found at the Traveler’s Inn playing for coin against strangers who underestimate him.
What he can do for you
- Sells equipment from the commissary at normal rates.
- Will lend gear from the commissary, and mounts from the stables, to a party he is friendly with — against a pledge to return it or pay for what is lost. He records every such transaction on a papyrus scroll and files it away, so nothing is forgotten.
