Pashlatine’s Company
The adventuring and trading company of Campaign I: Pashlatine and Co — a scrappy band of merchant-adventurers led by the venturer Pashlatine Levonday, working the roads between Teryk, Vedycaer, and the Talenta Plains. They made their name breaking the bandit menace of the Dome, destroying the corrupting Emerald Heart, and rooting out the wererat cults beneath Vedycaer.
The company paid dearly for it: half a dozen henches (and one of its own leaders) died along the way, and several survivors carry strange gifts and scars from tampering with mortality under the eyes of Numilvara and Talavosh.
The company (player characters)
- Pashlatine “Pash” Levonday — Venturer and leader; scion of the Levonday vinery family of Vedycaer. A merchant to the bone, allergic to sewers, and forever building the next trade route.
- Travain — bard and the party’s silver tongue, whose Mystic Aura charmed kobolds, hobgoblins, and bandits into friends (or at least confusion). Transformed and slain by the Emerald Heart’s miasma in Session 16.
- Singil — orcblooded shaman, escaped from slavers; the company’s healer, spirit-speaker, and, when the blood is up, its savage fury.
- Alwyn — thief and honorary member of Teryk’s guild; runs spying hijinks and once ran with Vedycaer’s Sewer Rats.
- Casino — a Reforged “spellcarved soldier” with a malfunctioning translation module (seven languages, all garbled); mapper, marksman, and keeper of the war dog Deuce and the white ape King.
- Dreyfuss — a Sakkalin watch-hound: a talking dog-detective with a “mind palace,” who joined in Session 17 to investigate the murder of the Levonday parents.
Henches and companions
- Meathead — kobold warrior of the Dome; fanatically loyal, briefly installed as kobold “king,” and convinced that Pash is a dragon in human form.
- Hugo — hench mage and herbalist; landed the killing dart on the Lady Below. Lost a foot in Session 24.
- Thranator — dwarven vaultguard and immovable front line; lamed but unbroken.
- Tassi Coralyn — gnomish elementalist, reliable summoner of berserkers and speaker-with-animals.
- Ardingle — hench mage; his floating disc ferried the party (and, once, Pash’s bed) across many an obstacle.
- Metri — dwarven rhetor (lawyer-orator), ever ready with an invoice.
- Athelia — exalted wonderworker; killed by a runaway clockwork horse in Session 22 and restored, now light-sensitive but able to see invisible.
- Gorthak the Blooded — orcblooded savage; gained the power to speak with dead after his own restoration.
- Renard — changeling pretender and cook; wounded rallying the folk of Blackbriar.
- Lorelea — Venturer hired to run the steady Vedycaer↔Teryk trade route.
- Deuce the war dog (retired after losing a foot) and King the white ape.
Departed: Ana the bard (returned to her bard school), Nevu the orcblooded warlock (left the life after a restoration awoke a hunger for vice), Abiyir Ar-Ujdan the orcblooded paladin (reborn winged by Numilvara in Session 18, retired to a spirit quest), Rotgrum the dwarven delver, Ebba the fighter.
The fallen
- Kojo — Pash’s gladiator hench; bled out returning from the Dome (Session 4).
- Val and Kund’arashta — killed by giant crab spiders in the Dome (Session 3).
- Travain — lost to the Emerald Heart (Session 16).
- Ebba — bitten in two by the wurm beneath Black Dog Manor (Session 20).
- Many a brave kobold follower of Meathead’s.
Allies, patrons, and adversaries
- Damonos — Pash’s mentor and proprietor of the House of Curiosities in Vedycaer; executor of the Levonday estate.
- Count Roland Varnel and Contessa Selenia of Teryk — patrons of the company’s early work against the Dome.
- Lucius Furlan — head of “The Family” syndicate in Vedycaer; a dangerous almost-ally by campaign’s end.
- Adversaries: the undead Lady Below and her Emerald Heart; the Bone Knight Calgronen and the questing halfling Enide; the wererat magus Provost Mentenus and his champion Abimbola; the charmer Maxwell Silvermane; and the shadowy changeling Brotherhood of Knives.
