The character can somehow get automatons running again with seemingly little more than lantern oil and a 10’ pole. He may repair automatons as if he were two class levels higher than actual. He can perform hasty repairs, taking just 10 minutes (1 turn) rather than 1 hour. Hasty repairs only last for 4d6 turns, with any hp repaired being lost when the duration ends. The Judge should make the determination of how long the repairs will last in secret.
