Memory Palace

Class proficiency — see Proficiencies for the rules and the Proficiency Index for the full list.

Some studious spellcasters are taught the secrets of magic orally, their knowledge preserved in mnemonic structures known as memory palaces. The character stores the spell formula for all of the spells in his repertoire in this memory palace instead of in a spell book. He does not need to meet a daily study requirement, as he is assumed to be reciting mnemonic triggers throughout his day. When the character adds spells to, or replaces spell in, his repertoire, he does so by eidetically transcribing their spell formulae into his memory palace. This requires one week of dedicated activity by the character. The character must either have access to a copy of the spell formula written in a language he can understand or must be verbally taught the spell formula by a fellow caster with this proficiency who is willing to devote one week of dedicated activity to instructing him.
