Personal Conduit

Class proficiency — see Proficiencies for the rules and the Proficiency Index for the full list.

An artificer with the Personal Conduit proficiency has created a special magic item, his personal conduit, which he uses to aid him in concocting infusions. When the proficiency is first taken, the character immediately gains a conduit of which provides a +1 bonus to concoction throws for infusions of one particular type. The character may choose from death & necromancy; detection; elemental air; elemental earth; elemental fire; elemental water; enchantment; healing; movement; protection; and transmogrification. Each time the proficiency is selected thereafter, the personal conduit can increase its bonus by +1 for one type of infusion. A character may never have more than one personal conduit at a time, and a personal conduit may never be used by anyone other than the character.

If the character’s personal conduit is ever lost or destroyed, the character may make a new one. Making a new personal conduit costs 5,000gp less than normal per rank in this proficiency, with the equivalent reductions in time, special components, and workshop requirements. Any magic research throws to make the personal conduit are always successful.
