Shargon
Sovereign of Wave and Whelm.
Shargon is the wrath of nature, and he must be appeased. He is the deep water, the storm, the flood that eats a coast. The only bargain he accepts is to be fed — so his people feed him, and often.
A follower of Shargon commands the storm. She might sail on a barge of ice, call the winds to protect her, or breathe beneath the sea.
Traditions that teach him: the Archaist.
His worship day is Wir, deep in the week. He shares Wir with Banor, whose followers take nature’s bounty, but turn a blind eye to its hunger.
Strictures
Archaist
- Each week, on his holy day, a follower of Shargon must give an offering in thanks for her survival against the hunger of nature. Where prepared goods fall short she may give the fruits of hunt or forage; where the land yields nothing, she must offer blood in its place.
- Each day, a follower of Shargon must undergo a ritual of prayer and immersion for one hour (6 turns). There is no set time for the prayer, but she must have sufficient water to completely submerge herself.
The wild’s due
Shargon’s weekly offering is due each Wir, and its value is set by the wildest terrain the follower entered during the prior week. The minimum value and typical weight of such offerings is shown on the table below.

Should she find herself short of prepared goods, she may make up the offering from local forage or hunting. Should hunt and forage both fail, she may pay in blood. Each 1 hp of self-inflicted damage worth 1 gp per class level. Alternatively she may offer an equivalent gp worth of divine power from blood sacrifice.
