Session 15 – The Lady in the Mine

Campaign II, session 15. Previous: Session 14. Next: Session 16.

  • Vierath uses tenebrosity to avoid detection by a pack of skeletons in the night

  • The party dodges a trio of Rocs on the way back to town

  • Vierath talks to the count about any remaining apple. He implies that Vezhka’s disease may be similar to the one the Count had suffered. The count releases the last slice of apple in exchange for Vierath’s discretion – it would be bad fore morale if there was worry about the disease spreading. Count Leng also expressed an interest in feeling out the ruler of Teryk on what kind of assistance might be available for dealing with the Lhazaaran threat.

  • The party cashes out all their money from the local vault and converts it all to gold, in case the merchants of other lands might not honor their letters of credit.

  • Travel to Teryk

    • Peleos sulks silently for most of the trip.

    • A pair of woolly rhinos! Zydell tries to distract them, but something in the cart has caught their attention. With some luck, the party managed to slay them both! They chopped off the horns for later cleaning and sale as trophies.

    • Dodged some Lynxes afterward

    • Wasted land – as if a camp of patrollers

    • Awakened in the night by some patrollers from Bastion, seeking Lhazaarans

    • A lady was waiting in the mine! The party hears muffled cries of a woman shouting for help. Cautiously, they send the owl to scout, and find an abandoned mine entrance in the side of a hill with a woman inside. The woman is dressed in an expensive gown, she claims to have been kidnapped by a bandit captain who left her here with some of his loot. Her husband is a merchant with the Ironmark Trading Guild.

      • Bundles of rare furs

      • Chest of coins

      • A rusty sword, but after being discerned as magical its appearance changes: the pommel is made of carved jet depicting a coiled serpent with a woman’s face, set with small golden sapphires for eyes.

      • The party absconds with everything in short order.

  • The party arrives in Teryk. ‘Tracy’ is able to secure them a 1,000gp reward for her own rescue, and is thankful that her husband’s caravan is not in town at the moment. She immediately takes her leave.
