Metrol is the largest metropolis in northern Sair, a city of gleaming spires on the River Melandor and Starmantle Bay. It is ruled by the Exarch Varon Drakomir, and the chain of fealty from the northern Borderlands runs up through Vedycaer to Metrol.

The spires and landmarks
- Throden’s Spire. This spire is the home of the Temple of Orn, the first Throdenite shrine founded by the legendary teacher Kiloni. Today, the master is known as Asta Leip, and he is renowned for strictness with his students.
- Cannith Vermishard: This spire houses the largest estate of House Cannith within Metrol, as well as their largest laboratories. Vivian D’Cannith, leader of the Artificers’ Guild, leads the house. Buy or commission new automatons, pay for infusions as a service.

- Mercenaries’ Guild: Owned and operated by House D’Neith. Hire mercenaries, join up, swap information and gossip about military operations in the region.
- Central Watch Tower: A central place of command for the city watch. There is also an adjunct of House Tharashk nearby; private detectives can be hired to find lost people and things within the city.
