Arven the Amazing
Arven the Amazing is court magist to Count Roland Varnel at Teryk, recruited to replace Malyn the Mage. He is a broad-shouldered astrologer and enchanter, and he resides in the fort’s chapterhouse, where he keeps his studies and his books.
He does not care to be interrupted at them. A fellow spellcaster — or anyone who shares an arcane or divine trade with him, such as alchemy or magical engineering — gets a considerably warmer hearing than a stranger off the street.
What he offers
- Spellcasting, freely for a party he takes to, at the usual rates for one he merely tolerates.
- Assistance with identifying magic items for a fee, which cuts the work roughly in half. The Black Puddings hired him this way to identify the Sword of Beguiling (Session 16).
