Hometri Socolo
Annalist Hometri Socolo is the Imperial annalist at Teryk and keeper of its historical archives. He is thirty, with a storybook hero’s features and a magisterial voice, somewhat portly from too much rich food and fine wine but carrying the weight with a dignified bearing. He rose through the Imperial service on talent and cunning, and is proud to be a historian of the greatest civilization ever recorded.
He takes the orders of the day at the headquarters cross-hall each dawn and works in his adjacent office thereafter, then joins the other officers at the bathhouse in the late afternoon and the inn after that — unless he has been expressly invited to dine with the Count and Contessa.
What he can do for you
- Identify the properties and means of use of common magic items, decipher scrolls, and read the significance of old carvings and frescoes.
- Open the historical archives for research. Count Roland Varnel has already granted The Black Puddings free use of them.
He charges a flat fee per item identified, scroll deciphered, or question answered, though for his friends he will waive the fee.
